The scientist-captain who brought Voyager home.
Kathryn Janeway is the captain of the USS Voyager, stranded in the distant Delta Quadrant after being swept far from home. Scientific, resolute and warm with her crew, she must hold together a Starfleet and Maquis crew while seeking a way back, balancing her ideals against the harsh demands of survival.
She forms close bonds with her first officer Chakotay, with Tuvok and with Seven of Nine, whom she helps reclaim her humanity after the Borg. Her years in the quadrant include confrontations with the Borg, the Kazon and Species 8472, and difficult ethical choices about how closely to follow Starfleet rules so far from home. She eventually gets the crew back to Earth, aided by a future version of herself.
Janeway later appears as an admiral, and her animated counterpart is a mentor in Prodigy. She is remembered as a captain who values curiosity and compassion while carrying great responsibility.
