Kes returns with a vendetta against Janeway.
An aged and furious Kes returns to Voyager in a small ship, rams it, kills B'Elanna Torres and travels back in time to the ship's first year in the Delta Quadrant. Disguising herself as her younger self, she plans to hand the crew over to the Vidiians in return for passage home to Ocampa, blaming Janeway for encouraging the powers that ruined her life.
In the past, Tuvok begins having visions of the future, including Seven of Nine and Naomi Wildman, who have not yet joined the crew, and he senses that something is wrong. The Vidiians attack, and Janeway confronts the older Kes. Tuvok's warnings lead the younger Kes to record a message, and when the older Kes strikes again in the present, it stops her by asking her to remember who she was. Calmed, she leaves for Ocampa. The sixth-season episode marks Jennifer Lien's return as Kes, and it revisits the series' early days.
