The Turei are a Delta Quadrant species who control much of the network of underspace corridors in their region of space and defend them aggressively against intruders. They were among the many peoples who suffered under the Vaadwaur centuries earlier.
In Dragon's Teeth, a Turei patrol pursued Voyager through underspace to a planet where Vaadwaur survivors lay in stasis after a devastating bombardment nine centuries before. When Janeway revived the Vaadwaur, the Turei attacked in force, determined to prevent their old enemy from rising again.
