The Krenim scientist Annorax uses a temporal weapon ship to rewrite history, and Voyager endures months of punishing attacks.
Voyager enters Krenim space and comes under attack from Krenim warships. Behind the conflict is Annorax, a Krenim scientist whose temporal weapon ship can erase whole species from history, part of his long effort to restore his people's lost empire. Each of his incursions rewrites the region, and Voyager is caught in the changes.
Over the following months the ship is battered, crew members are lost and Tuvok is blinded. Chakotay and Paris are taken aboard Annorax's vessel, and Janeway orders most of the crew to abandon ship while she and the senior staff keep fighting. The story concludes in the second part.
