A rescue frees the crew and a captive Loom from Asencia, and Solum erupts into civil war.
The Doctor treats Wesley's injuries, but his Traveler powers are temporarily gone, and Janeway reminds him that he was a fine Starfleet officer first. Janeway, Chakotay, the Doctor and Wesley lead a rescue of the Protostar crew, whom Asencia plans to feed to a captured Loom.
The rescue succeeds and the Loom is freed. Ilthuran calls on his people to rise against Asencia, Solum falls into civil war, and Janeway decides to help even though it means violating the Prime Directive. Jennifer Muro wrote the episode and Sung Shin directed.
