The Qomar are a Delta Quadrant people with a strong talent for mathematics and advanced technology. They can be dismissive of species they view as less developed, and they had never developed music of their own.
In the episode Virtuoso, the Doctor's singing amazed the Qomar and quickly made him a celebrity on their world. He came close to leaving Voyager to stay with his new admirers. However, a Qomar named Tincoo used mathematics to design a hologram able to sing music no human voice could perform, and the Qomar soon lost interest in the Doctor, who returned to the ship.
