Tuvok relives a mission with Captain Sulu aboard the Excelsior.
Tuvok suffers from a mental condition that triggers memories of an earlier part of his career, when he served on the USS Excelsior under Captain Sulu during a mission that has links to an earlier film. Janeway and the Doctor must help him sort fact from fiction.
The episode was made as part of the 30th anniversary of Star Trek, and it links Voyager to the original series era through the presence of characters and settings from the movies. It also reveals more about Tuvok's early life in Starfleet, and it plays as a love letter to the original crew.
