Tuvok and Paris are stranded on a planet with an alien woman.
Tuvok, Tom Paris and the Doctor crash on a planet inside a pocket of space where time runs faster than outside. They meet Noss, an alien woman long stranded there, and while Paris tries to reach Voyager, Noss grows attached to Tuvok. Tuvok holds back his feelings, and flashbacks show him as a young man on Vulcan, sent to a Vulcan master to learn to control his emotions after a youthful infatuation.
Outside, Voyager finds the pocket just as aliens plan to seal it, which would crush everyone inside. Janeway delays them, and a message reaches the castaways with instructions for beaming out. After a final fight with hostile locals, the group is rescued, after two months on the planet but only two days for Voyager. The fifth-season episode is a study of Tuvok, and it ends with him and Noss sharing their feelings through a mind meld before she goes home.
