An astronaut from a planet where time ran far faster than outside, who reached Voyager and later helped free it from his world's orbit.
Gotana-Retz is an astronaut from the world shown in Blink of an Eye, which sits in a tachyon field where centuries pass during hours aboard Voyager. Trapped in orbit, Voyager causes earthquakes on the surface, and the planet's people develop rapidly while trying to reach the sky-ship they can see.
Gotana-Retz and a companion launch a capsule that docks with Voyager. His companion dies from the stress of adjusting to the time difference, but the Doctor saves him. Gotana-Retz returns home to try to end his people's attacks, and later a visibly older Gotana-Retz returns to explain that his people have the means to tow Voyager to freedom.
