Massive Nacene station that pulled Voyager and a Maquis ship into the Delta Quadrant, destroyed by Janeway to protect the Ocampa.
The array was a huge space station near the Ocampa homeworld, operated by a dying Nacene known as the Caretaker. For centuries he had looked after the Ocampa after his species accidentally devastated their world, supplying energy to their underground city.
Searching for a mate who could continue his work, the Caretaker used a displacement wave to pull ships across the galaxy into the Delta Quadrant. In Caretaker, the USS Voyager and Chakotay's Maquis raider were taken from the Badlands, and their crews were examined inside an elaborate simulation while the Caretaker looked for a compatible partner.
The Caretaker died before he could send anyone home. With Kazon forces closing in to seize the array, Janeway destroyed it so it could not be used against the Ocampa, stranding Voyager about seventy thousand light-years from Earth and forcing the Starfleet and Maquis crews to merge.
