Villainous queen in Tom Paris's Captain Proton holoprogram, a role Janeway played to outwit Doctor Chaotica.
Arachnia, Queen of the Spider People, was a character in Tom Paris's Captain Proton holoprograms destined to become the bride of Doctor Chaotica. In Bride of Chaotica!, with photonic aliens from another dimension at war with Chaotica, Janeway took on the role herself, as the crew could not end the program without harming the aliens.
Playing the queen with relish, Janeway proposed an alliance and marriage to Chaotica, and eventually forced him to lower the lightning shield protecting his fortress, ending the crisis.
