Devore Imperium inspector who hunted telepaths aboard Voyager, courted Janeway with a false defection and was outwitted by her.
Kashyk was an inspector of the Devore Imperium, which outlawed telepaths. In Counterpoint, Voyager was secretly smuggling Brenari telepathic refugees through Devore space, and Kashyk made repeated surprise inspections, playing classical music to the crew while his officers searched the ship.
He later claimed to want to defect and helped Janeway work out where a randomly appearing wormhole would next open for the refugees, while a romantic attraction grew between them. The defection was a ruse to locate the telepaths, but Janeway had anticipated his betrayal and the refugees escaped. Kashyk was played by Mark Harelik.
