The Vori are a humanoid Delta Quadrant species locked in a bitter war with the Kradin. Their military relies on intense indoctrination to prepare recruits for combat and to instill hatred of the enemy.
In Nemesis, Chakotay crash-landed in the middle of the conflict and was taken in by Vori soldiers, who gradually convinced him that the Kradin were brutal monsters. The experience turned out to be an elaborate training simulation used to recruit fighters. Janeway, who had been negotiating with the Kradin, recovered him, but Chakotay struggled to shed the hatred instilled in him.
