Janeway recruits the cadets for the new Voyager, but they are sidelined until they uncover a secret rescue mission.
A year after saving Starfleet, Dal, Rok-Tahk, Jankom Pog, Murf and Zero are recruited by Admiral Janeway as cadets aboard the new USS Voyager-A. They feel sidelined and are snubbed by Nova Squadron, an elite flight team led by the young Vulcan Maj'el.
Spying on Janeway, the friends discover she is secretly planning to rescue Chakotay using a cloaked ship called the Infinity. When Maj'el catches Dal and tries to stop them, the Infinity is activated by accident and plunges early into the wormhole left by the Protostar's destruction. The second season premiere was written by Kevin and Dan Hageman and directed by Ben Hibon.
