Caylem was an elderly Alsaurian who mistook Janeway for his daughter and helped her rescue Tuvok and Torres from a Mokra prison.
Caylem was an Alsaurian living under the oppressive rule of the Mokra. Years earlier his wife had been imprisoned and his daughter Ralkana killed trying to free her, but he never accepted their loss and repeatedly attempted to break into the prison to rescue them. Joel Grey played him.
In Resistance, Caylem found an injured Janeway and believed she was Ralkana. He guided her into the prison caves where Tuvok and B'Elanna Torres were held, and attacked the Mokra commander Augris to protect her. Shot by the guards, he died in Janeway's arms, comforted by her assurance that his wife had forgiven him.
