An older Janeway's mission to change Voyager's fate comes to a head as the ship nears the Alpha Quadrant.
At the Borg Unicomplex, Admiral Janeway pretends to bargain with the Borg Queen, but she is carrying a pathogen in her own bloodstream. When the Queen assimilates her, the disease spreads through the Collective, killing the Queen and bringing down the Unicomplex, and the admiral dies with it. A Borg sphere chases Voyager through a transwarp tunnel, and Captain Janeway takes the ship inside it and blows it apart from within as they reach the Alpha Quadrant.
Voyager emerges near Earth to a Starfleet fleet that came to fight the Borg and instead brings the ship home. At the same moment B'Elanna Torres gives birth to her and Tom Paris's child. The series finale ends the seven-year journey with Janeway sacrificing her own future self, and it leaves the crew's lives on Earth to the imagination, ending on the ship flying home with its escort.
