The crew reaches the Time Ziggurat, where Wesley Crusher reveals that the Loom are hunting them.
The crew reaches the Time Ziggurat, headquarters of the Travelers, where their mysterious benefactor proves to be Wesley Crusher. He says he can help mend their unraveling timeline, but the hole in time they created has drawn the Loom, parasitic beings that feed on dying timelines and manipulate time to hunt. The Loom freeze Dal, Rok-Tahk, Zero, Jankom and Murf in time, while Gwyn and Wesley, protected by temporal stabilizers, set out to free them. After fetching more stabilizers, the group escapes through a vault into a bunker furnished like a mid-20th-century apartment.
Meanwhile, Janeway ignores Admiral Jellico's order to return home and follows the Infinity's warp trail, bringing Voyager-A to the Ziggurat without knowing the danger waiting there. The first half of a two-parter brings Wil Wheaton's Wesley into the series as a Traveler and introduces the Loom as the season's cosmic threat. Jennifer Muro wrote the episode and Sung Shin directed.
