Spock is the half-Vulcan, half-human science officer of the USS Enterprise and one of the most famous characters in science fiction. Leonard Nimoy originated the role, Zachary Quinto plays him in the Kelvin timeline films, and Ethan Peck plays the younger Spock in Discovery and Strange New Worlds.
His story is shaped by the pull between Vulcan logic and his human emotions, by a long-strained relationship with his father Sarek, and by his friendship with Kirk and McCoy. In The Wrath of Khan he gives his life to save the ship, and in The Search for Spock he is restored when his katra is reunited with his regenerated body. In The Undiscovered Country he helps open peace talks with the Klingons, and in The Next Generation two-parter Unification he is an ambassador working in secret toward Vulcan-Romulan reunification.
In the Kelvin films the elderly Spock, played by Nimoy, crosses into an altered timeline in which Vulcan is destroyed. Strange New Worlds shows his years under Captain Pike.
