People of the planet Scalos who live at incredible speed after radiation altered them, and who tried to seize the Enterprise crew as mates.
The Scalosians live on the planet Scalos. Generations ago, volcanic activity released radiation and contaminated their water, accelerating their bodies so greatly that they move far faster than ordinary beings and appear only as an insect-like buzzing to others. The same change left most of their men sterile and their population dying out.
In the episode Wink of an Eye, they lured the Enterprise with a distress call and used drugged water to accelerate James T. Kirk into their time frame. Their leader Deela planned to freeze the rest of the crew for future use as mates. Spock and Leonard McCoy developed a way to reverse the effect, Spock accelerated himself to help Kirk, and the Scalosians were returned to their planet.
