A species of magic users from Megas-Tu, near the galactic centre, who once visited Earth and suffered persecution during the Salem witch trials.
The Megans live on Megas-Tu, a world near the centre of the galaxy where the laws of physics allow magic to work. They visited Earth centuries ago, where they were persecuted, including during the Salem witch trials, and withdrew.
In The Magicks of Megas-Tu, the Enterprise was drawn to Megas-Tu, where the Megan Lucien, who resembled the devil of Earth legend, befriended the crew. The other Megans put Lucien on trial for helping humans, and Kirk defended him, convincing them that humanity had changed.
