A gangster boss on Sigma Iotia II who tries to recruit Kirk to help him take over the planet's rival territories.
Bela Oxmyx is one of the most powerful bosses on Sigma Iotia II, a planet whose culture has been modeled on a book about Chicago gangsters of the 1920s. In A Piece of the Action he controls the largest territory and wants Kirk to supply him with weapons, the heaters of the Federation, so he can take out his rivals.
Kirk and Spock instead play the bosses off against one another. Kirk unites them under a single syndicate, with Oxmyx as its head and the Federation taking a cut, so that the planet can begin to move away from rule by gangs. He was played by Anthony Caruso.
