Huge, fur-covered, spear-throwing creatures that attacked the stranded crew of the shuttlecraft Galileo on Taurus II.
These creatures were enormous, ape-like beings covered in coarse fur, standing several meters tall. They lived among the rocks and mists of Taurus II, a planet within the Murasaki 312 quasar-like formation, and used large spears and boulders as weapons.
In The Galileo Seven, the shuttlecraft Galileo crash-landed on Taurus II with Spock in command. The creatures killed crewmen Latimer and Gaetano. Spock tried to scare them off with a show of force, but they only grew bolder until the survivors managed to launch the repaired shuttle.
