A hostile planet inside Murasaki 312 where Spock's shuttlecraft crew is stranded in The Galileo Seven.
Taurus II is the only planet within the Murasaki 312 phenomenon that is able to support humanoid life. In The Galileo Seven, the shuttlecraft Galileo, commanded by Spock, is dragged off course and crash-lands there. The surface is a fogbound landscape of rocks inhabited by giant, primitive creatures that use spears.
The creatures kill Latimer and Gaetano, and the survivors clash over Spock's purely logical leadership as they try to repair the shuttle. In a final gamble, Spock ignites the shuttle's fuel as a flare, which the Enterprise sees just in time.
