When Starbase 28 comes under attack, Cadet Thira Sidhu is put in charge of a prisoner accused of mutiny, Captain Christopher Pike of the Enterprise. Pike, whom Sidhu admires, insists he must be released to help his ship and tries to persuade her that the charge is a mistake, but she holds to her orders despite his pressure and the chaos around them.
After her final refusal, Pike reveals that the entire encounter was a simulated test of her character, which she has passed, and her reward is a posting aboard the Enterprise, where Number One and Spock welcome her. The short explores integrity under pressure as a core Starfleet value and features Anson Mount, Ethan Peck and Rebecca Romijn in their Discovery roles. Kalinda Vazquez wrote it, Sanji Senaka directed, and Amrit Kaur played Sidhu.
