Austrian-American actress who played the Vulcan matriarch T'Pau in Amok Time.
Celia Lovsky (1897–1979) was an Austrian-American actress who worked in European theatre and film before building a long career in Hollywood character roles, including an appearance in The Twilight Zone as the aged daughter of an ageless film star.
In Amok Time (1967) Lovsky played T'Pau, the revered Vulcan elder who presides over Spock's marriage ritual and the combat between Spock and Kirk. Her commanding presence made T'Pau one of the most memorable Vulcans of the original series, and the character's name was later linked to Vulcan history in Star Trek: Enterprise.
