A young Klingon captain who pursued the Enterprise to Sha Ka Ree in the hope of winning glory by defeating James T. Kirk.
Klaa commands a Klingon Bird-of-Prey and is eager to make a name for himself. In Star Trek V: The Final Frontier he destroys an old Earth probe for target practice, and when he learns that Kirk is heading to Nimbus III, he chases the Enterprise to the centre of the galaxy.
At Sha Ka Ree, Spock, acting with General Korrd's authority, takes over the weapons of Klaa's ship and destroys the being that is attacking Kirk. Korrd then makes Klaa apologise to Kirk. He was played by Todd Bryant.
