Seven of Nine is a former Borg drone, born Annika Hansen, who joins Voyager's crew after being cut off from the Collective. Played by Jeri Ryan, she begins as a cold, literal-minded survivor and slowly rediscovers her humanity under the guidance of Captain Janeway and the Doctor.
Her journey is one of the franchise's strongest arcs. She struggles with identity and memory, builds friendships with the crew, particularly the Doctor and Janeway, and finds the courage to make her own choices. After Voyager returns home, she appears in Star Trek: Picard, where she is a hardened vigilante driven by guilt, and later a Starfleet officer who earns real command responsibility.
