To escape hologram-hating Lokirrim captors, the Doctor hides his program inside Seven of Nine's body.
The Delta Flyer, carrying Seven of Nine, Harry Kim and the Doctor, is captured by the Lokirrim, who hate holograms after a revolt by their own. To hide the Doctor, Seven downloads his program into her Borg implants, and he takes control of her body. Enjoying food and other sensations for the first time, the Doctor, as Seven, draws the interest of the Lokirrim captain, Ranek.
While Seven objects to how he is using her body, Tuvok on Voyager suffers the Vulcan mating fever, pon farr, and Tom Paris treats him with a hologram of his wife. During a date, the Doctor drugs Ranek and contacts Voyager, and when Ranek is hurt, the Doctor reveals himself and treats him, showing the Lokirrim that a hologram can be trusted. The seventh-season episode is a comedy that lets Jeri Ryan play the Doctor's personality, and it ends with Seven describing a meal to him so he can enjoy it.
