The oldest of five Borg children left alone on a damaged cube, who led them in holding Voyager crew members hostage.
First is the name given to the leader of five immature drones found aboard a Borg cube in Collective. A virus killed the adult drones, but the children survived inside maturation chambers. They capture Chakotay, Tom Paris, Neelix and Harry Kim and demand Voyager's deflector to contact the Collective.
Seven of Nine discovers that the Collective ignored the cube as irrelevant, but First refuses to accept it and grows increasingly hostile. He is killed in the confrontation, while the other children, including Icheb and Mezoti, join Voyager's crew.
