Picard stalls the Romulan fleet until Riker arrives, Soji ends the summoning, Picard dies and is revived in a synthetic body, and he says goodbye to Data.
Narek turns to Raffi, Rios and Elnor to destroy the synths' beacon, while Jurati frees Picard and they take La Sirena up to stall the Romulan fleet. Seven kills Narissa aboard the Artifact. Soong discovers Sutra's manipulation and disables her, but Soji activates the beacon.
A Starfleet armada under Riker arrives, and Soji, persuaded by Picard, shuts the beacon down, and the Romulans withdraw. Picard dies of his illness, and Jurati and Soong transfer his mind into a synthetic body. Inside a simulation he says goodbye to Data, who asks to die. Afterward the synth ban is lifted, and Picard leaves with Soji and his crew aboard La Sirena. Michael Chabon wrote the teleplay.
