In 2401 an unusual Borg ship appeared and asked to join the Federation. Picard was suspicious after the Borg Queen tried to take over his ship, so he set it to self-destruct. Q then stepped in and sent Picard into his alternate timeline.
After time was restored, the true nature of the ship became clear. It was led by Agnes Jurati, who had merged with a Borg Queen in 2024 and spent centuries building a gentler Collective. Her Borg used their ship to form a barrier that held back a powerful transwarp anomaly threatening the galaxy.
