Beverly Crusher calls on Picard for help and the Enterprise-D crew reunites.
Beverly Crusher and her son Jack are attacked aboard their ship, the Eleos, and the injured Beverly sends Picard a distress message asking him not to involve Starfleet. Picard turns to William Riker, and the two stage a surprise inspection of the USS Titan-A so they can steer it toward her. Captain Liam Shaw refuses, but his first officer, Seven of Nine, quietly changes course.
On M'talas Prime, Raffi Musiker, now a Starfleet intelligence operative, fails to stop a stolen portal weapon from destroying a Starfleet facility. Picard and Riker take a shuttle to the Eleos, find Beverly in stasis and meet Jack just as a huge warship appears. Terry Matalas wrote the season premiere.
