Picard lures Vadic aboard the Titan and learns her history, but Lore seizes the ship and frees her, and she captures the bridge crew.
Picard suspects the Changelings plan to use a copy of him to attack the Frontier Day celebration. Geordi tries to keep Data in control of the new body as Lore pushes back. Picard sets a trap that lures Vadic and her crew onto the Titan, with Jack as bait.
Under questioning, Vadic reveals that she is one of ten Changelings who were experimented on by Starfleet scientists after the Dominion War, and that she is hunting Jack for someone else. Before Data can be revived, Lore takes over the Titan's computer and frees Vadic, who captures Seven, Shaw and the bridge crew. Jane Maggs wrote the episode and Deborah Kampmeier directed.
