Gruff captain of the USS Titan-A, a survivor of Wolf 359 who reluctantly sheltered Picard and Riker during the final season of Picard.
Liam Shaw, played by Todd Stashwick, is the captain of the USS Titan-A in the early 2400s. He is a blunt, sarcastic officer who distrusts the legendary crew of the Enterprise-D and keeps his first officer, Seven of Nine, at arm's length.
Shaw is a survivor of the Battle of Wolf 359, where the Borg, acting through Picard as Locutus, destroyed much of the fleet, and his trauma explains his hostility toward Picard. In Picard's third season, Picard and Riker take the Titan on an unauthorized mission to help Beverly Crusher, and Shaw is dragged into a fight with the warship Shrike and a Changeling conspiracy. He gradually earns the trust of his crew and of Picard. Shaw is killed during the conflict, but a log he left behind recommends Seven of Nine as a captain.
Shaw became a fan favorite despite his short run. His story offered a rare look at the lasting damage of Wolf 359.
