T'Pol is a Vulcan science officer assigned to Enterprise NX-01, played by Jolene Blalock. Initially placed aboard by the Vulcan High Command to observe the humans, she is skeptical of Captain Archer's methods, but she slowly comes to respect his courage and judgment.
Her storyline is full of personal challenge. She experiences conflict with her own people, struggles with an addiction to a substance that dulls her emotional control, and forms a deep bond with the ship's chief engineer, Trip Tucker. She also takes on increased command responsibility as the series progresses, and her loyalty to the crew leads her to question Vulcan policy and tradition.
T'Pol endures as a compelling bridge between two worlds. She shows how a cautious, logical outsider can learn from humans while shaping their path.
