Coordinates from Tarquin lead Enterprise to a Xindi settlement refining kemocite, a key component of the weapon. Archer, Reed and Major Hayes slip down to the planet and confront Gralik Durr, an Arboreal who supplies the material to Degra. Gralik insists he never knew what it was for.
Archer chooses not to destroy the complex, wanting to show the Xindi that humans are not aggressors, and Gralik shares Xindi history, including the presumed extinction of the Avians. T'Pol modifies a canister of kemocite so it can be tracked, and Archer slips it onto Degra's shuttle. On Enterprise, Tucker's study of a Reptilian rifle triggers its self-destruct.
