Trip finds himself a prisoner of a princess.
The captain of a Retellian cargo ship asks Enterprise for help with a failing stasis pod, and Tucker is sent over to fix it. Inside he finds Kaitaama, a princess from Krios Prime who is due to become its First Monarch. When the pod fails, Tucker frees her, and the captain knocks him out and flees, leaving his brother behind on Enterprise.
Tucker learns Kaitaama is being held for ransom, and the two escape in a pod to a swampy planet, where their constant bickering slowly turns into attraction. Archer and T'Pol question the captain's brother to track the ship, and a rescue team arrives as Kaitaama subdues her kidnapper. The episode was directed by David Livingston, with a teleplay by David A. Goodman.
