The head of the Vulcan High Command who bombed Earth's embassy and plotted a war against Andoria while secretly serving Romulan interests.
V'Las was the administrator of the Vulcan High Command in the 2150s. A cold, authoritarian leader, he persecuted the Syrrannites, a group of Vulcans who sought to return to the original teachings of Surak, and he distrusted humans and Andorians alike.
To discredit the Syrrannites, V'Las orchestrated the bombing of the Earth embassy on Vulcan and blamed them, an attack that killed Admiral Maxwell Forrest. He then prepared a pre-emptive invasion of Andoria, claiming the Andorians had obtained dangerous weapons. Jonathan Archer, T'Pol and the Syrrannite leader T'Pau uncovered his plans while searching for the Kir'Shara, an ancient artefact containing Surak's original writings.
Archer warned the Andorians in time, and the recovery of the Kir'Shara exposed V'Las, leading to the dissolution of the High Command. It was revealed that he had been secretly collaborating with the Romulans, who hoped to reunify their people with the Vulcans. His downfall began Vulcan's turn toward the society seen in later eras.
