Enterprise ferries the Vulcan ambassador V'Lar, expelled from Mazar in disgrace, while Mazarite ships pursue them.
Enterprise is ordered to collect Ambassador V'Lar, a Vulcan diplomat expelled from the planet Mazar for alleged misconduct, and bring her to a Vulcan ship. T'Pol admires her greatly and is troubled by the accusations.
Mazarite ships chase Enterprise and demand V'Lar's return, and Archer must push the ship to warp five to escape. V'Lar finally explains that her disgrace was staged to discredit her as a witness, protecting an investigation into corrupt Mazarite officials. She offers to give herself up to protect the crew, but Archer declines, and a Vulcan ship arrives in time. The episode was directed by Patrick Norris, with a teleplay by Alan Cross.
