T'Pol, Reed and Sato board a Klingon ship sinking into a gas giant and try to save it while its sole conscious survivor flees in their shuttlepod.
Enterprise detects a Klingon vessel, the Somraw, sinking into the atmosphere of a gas giant. T'Pol, Reed and Sato take a shuttlepod down and find its crew incapacitated, but the one conscious Klingon, Bu'kaH, escapes in their shuttlepod and leaves them stranded on the crumbling ship.
Aboard Enterprise, Phlox learns the crew were poisoned by a toxin in captured alien ale, and Archer persuades Bu'kaH that letting her shipmates die would be dishonorable. Sato reads the Klingon logs, Reed uses torpedo shockwaves to push the ship higher, and the team repairs it. The revived Klingon captain then threatens Enterprise, but backs down. The episode was directed by Les Landau and written by Fred Dekker.
