After his father dies, Mayweather visits his family's cargo ship, the Horizon, and helps defend it from raiders.
Enterprise's route passes near the Horizon, the cargo ship on which Mayweather grew up, and he asks to visit his ailing father, only to learn that his father died weeks earlier. On board, his mother welcomes him, but his brother Paul, now acting captain, resents his attempts to upgrade the ship.
Raiders attack the Horizon, and Mayweather secretly makes defensive modifications, which leads to a confrontation with Paul. When the raiders return and demand the ship itself, Paul has Mayweather activate the changes, and they disable the attacker. The brothers reconcile. On Enterprise, Tucker hosts a screening of Frankenstein films for T'Pol. The episode was directed by James A. Contner and written by Andre Bormanis.
