The Vulcan tactical officer on Voyager.
Tuvok is the Vulcan chief of security and tactical officer on Voyager, played by Tim Russ. Calm, precise and disciplined, he serves as Captain Janeway's closest advisor and one of her oldest friends, and his presence anchors the crew during long years far from home.
He begins the series as a Starfleet officer who has infiltrated the Maquis, and he is stranded with the rest of the crew. Throughout the show he provides counsel, trains the ship's security teams, and uses mind melds and Vulcan meditation to solve problems. He also mentors younger officers, including Neelix and Harry Kim, and he faces a personal crisis when an illness affects his control of his own mind.
Tuvok endures as the model of Vulcan composure. His dry wit and unwavering loyalty make him one of the most trusted figures on the ship.
