Mariah Henley was a former Maquis serving aboard Voyager after the two crews merged. Like her fellow trainees, she had little patience for Starfleet discipline and the rigid approach of her new security chief.
In Learning Curve, Henley was assigned to Tuvok's training class alongside Kenneth Dalby, Gerron and Chell. The group walked out early on and pushed back against Tuvok's methods, but by the end of the episode the trainees had developed a grudging respect for him after he risked himself to save one of their own during an emergency aboard the ship.
