American actor, musician and director who played the Vulcan security officer Tuvok on Voyager after several other Star Trek roles.
Tim Russ is an American actor, musician, writer and director, born in 1956, whose screen credits include Crossroads, Spaceballs and Principal Franklin on iCarly. A longtime Star Trek fan, he played several franchise roles before his signature part, including the mercenary Devor in The Next Generation episode Starship Mine, a Klingon in the Deep Space Nine episode Invasive Procedures and a bridge officer on the Enterprise-B in Star Trek Generations.
From 1995 to 2001 Russ played Lieutenant Commander Tuvok, Voyager's Vulcan chief of security and Kathryn Janeway's oldest friend, a role that drew on his deep knowledge of Vulcan lore. He also played a mirror universe Tuvok in the Deep Space Nine episode Through the Looking Glass.
Russ returned as Captain Tuvok in the third season of Star Trek: Picard. He also directed the independent production Star Trek: Of Gods and Men, which reunited several franchise actors.
