Gerron was a young Bajoran Maquis crewman whose rescue by Tuvok won over the trainees of his protocol class.
Gerron was a Bajoran who had joined the Maquis and ended up aboard Voyager with Chakotay's crew. He was among the Maquis crew members assigned to Tuvok's course in Starfleet procedure after repeated discipline problems.
In Learning Curve, Gerron was injured and trapped during an emergency caused by a power surge in a cargo bay. Tuvok had insisted that one crewman could be sacrificed to save the group, yet he broke his own rule and went back for Gerron. That act convinced the trainees that Tuvok understood loyalty, and they agreed to continue their training.
