Character Star Trek: Voyager

Vorik

Vulcan engineer

Vulcan engineer aboard Voyager whose pon farr caused trouble with B'Elanna Torres.

Vorik is a young Vulcan engineer who serves on Voyager, appearing in several episodes of the series. Played by Alexander Enberg, he is polite, reserved and quietly capable, and he reflects the discipline that is expected of his people.
He is best known for an episode in which he enters the Vulcan mating drive known as pon farr and turns to B'Elanna Torres, which leads to a violent confrontation and a serious test of her self-control. In later appearances he returns as a dependable engineer, and his awkward but sincere efforts to cooperate with the crew show that Vulcans can be vulnerable too. He also forms a sense of loyalty to the ship as the years pass.
Vorik endures as a memorable supporting character. His story shows the sometimes difficult side of Vulcan biology and the importance of dignity under pressure.
