A young Starfleet ensign aboard Voyager.
Harry Kim is the operations officer of the USS Voyager, played by Garrett Wang. Fresh out of Starfleet Academy, he is an ensign on his first assignment when the ship is pulled into the Delta Quadrant, and he becomes one of the core members of the crew.
He is earnest, loyal and a talented clarinet player, and his friendship with Tom Paris is a mainstay of the series. Although he takes on important responsibilities, he remains an ensign for the whole seven-year journey, a fact that became a long-running joke among fans.
In Deadlock, Kim is killed when Voyager is duplicated by a spatial anomaly, and his counterpart from the other Voyager crosses over to take his place for the rest of the series. Kim is remembered as the idealistic and dependable heart of the crew.
