A shuttle racer who befriended Harry Kim at an interstellar peace race, then sabotaged it to wreck the peace agreement it celebrated.
Irina is a pilot whom Tom Paris and Harry Kim meet in Drive, when she challenges them to an impromptu race through an asteroid field. She is preparing for a major rally held to mark the end of a long conflict between several cultures, and Paris persuades Janeway to enter the new Delta Flyer.
When Irina's co-pilot is injured, she recruits Kim as his replacement, and a romance seems to spark. Kim then survives a second console explosion and realises that Irina is the saboteur, set on disrupting the peace agreement. He disarms her and the plot fails.
