A humanoid Delta Quadrant people who believe that death brings passage to an afterlife they call the Next Emanation.
The Vhnori are a humanoid Delta Quadrant species who believe that death carries the departed to an afterlife called the Next Emanation. Their dying, and some who choose to go early, are sent away in a ceremony using a transference chamber.
In Emanations, an away team found Vhnori bodies on an asteroid, and Harry Kim was accidentally sent to the Vhnori homeworld in exchange for one of them. His account of what happened to their dead unsettled the beliefs of the Vhnori he met, and Voyager eventually found a way to bring him home.
