Harry Kim wakes up in his apartment in San Francisco with no record of ever having been on Voyager, and with the ship's crew having continued without him. He sets out to find the cause and to restore the timeline.
The story is an alternate-reality puzzle, and it gives Kim, the youngest member of the senior crew, a chance to take center stage. It also lets viewers see familiar characters in a very different life, including Tom Paris, and it raises the question of whether Kim would give up the chance to be home for the sake of his friends.
